Totem lamp by Bernard Rooke, England, 1960s
The lamp is made up of separate sections positioned on a central metal tube, certain elements being decorated with hieroglyphic symbols specific to Rooke.

Good condition.
Minor wear and defects compatible with the handling and handling process
Cracks, cuts, loss of glaze and minor asymmetry.

Bernard Rooke was born in 1938 and studied ceramics at the Goldsmiths College in London. In 1960, he opened a workshop in Forest Hill, which he shared with another potter, Alan Wallwork. Rooke produced progressive sculptural works and his first parts were handmade using coils and blocks. His works appear in private collections as well as in museums and galleries around the world, notably at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
