This 19th-century low cabinet, crafted in Suzhou, Jiangsu, has a timeless design featuring multiple drawers and doors with ornamental hardware. Renowned for its canals, bridges, and waterways, Suzhou has been a renowned furniture-making hub since the Ming dynasty.

Constructed of beech wood, but with aged hardware, this cabinet offers a safe place for valuable items to be stored. Its central panel can be locked, although the original metal key is no longer available. Each set of outer doors has a removable center post for simplified access. Originally used for housing valuable items and displaying vases and ceramics, the Suzhou Low Elm Cabinet is today ideal as a sideboard or TV stand.
