Afra & Tobia Scarpa, Soriana Sofas, Cassina, Italy, 1970s. Afra (1937-2011) & Tobia (1935-) Scarpa both studied at the Venice Institute of Architecture. Their pieces are exhibited in many museums worldwide, collections the MoMa in New York and the Musée du Louvre in Paris. the Soriana model is certainly one of their most iconic and representative creations, which in 1970 won the most prestigious Italian design award, the "Compasso D'Oro". The sofas comes from the waiting room of an important hotel designed by the architect Takahama.
