Simmis chair by La Cube Madrid, 2016 Materials: Iron, chesnut Dimensions: 90 x 45 x 45 cm The Simmis chair plays with its symmetry from different perspectives. On one hand, there is the symmetry between the wood parts, highlighted by a central incision, which is the key element of the aesthetics of chair. This incision, that divides the chair into two identical sides, provides lightness, balance and visual delicacy which is counteracted by the strength of the material and the cubic form of the lower part. On the other hand, there is the second symmetry, which corresponds to the inclination of the lower cube and the back of the chair. The profiles of these two elements make a symmetric figure between the higher and the lower part, which axis is the back.
