About This Piece

One of the constant themes of Criscuolo's works is the capture of the moment in time, an instant that captures the expression and the distinctive features of a figure or a concept.
In the portrait Criscuolo finds a completely personal artistic dimension where the classical canons are respected and at the same time distorted with skilful experiments on tones and volumes of colors. The brushstrokes are decisive and the color is almost tangible in its materiality, a constant feature of the works of the Master that in "Jogging" and "Ritorno dallo Jogging", an enchanting couple of oil on canvas, portrays the female figure in the athletic act of running, capturing the details, but above all the expressiveness.
The warm and enveloping tones convey to the viewer the sensation of observing a summer scene, where the sunlight immerses the figure and enhances the sensation of movement.
