Napoleon III Louis XIV Style Mirror with Gilt Wood, 19th Century

About This Piece

Vintage Design

Large mirror in parliament, consisting of a main rectangular, bevelled and protruding ice. It is completed, by definition, of four secondary, trapezoidal. These ice creams, with mercury, have traces of seniority which, without harming the use of this mirror, attest to its authenticity.
On the generous pediment, where a quiver and a torch intertwine, two birds, placed on two flowery branches, seem to observe each other.
The golden wooden frames are pearl for the interior, scalloped for the outside. They are connected by carved ornaments.
The corners of this mirror are garnished with acanthus leaves.
We will appreciate in particular the original asset of park, namely that of enlarging the reflecting surface, but also the nice pediment of this mirror.
