Mid-century decorative platter (circa 1960s) by Albert Thiry. A milky-white glaze graces both the exterior and the hollow centre. The interior has small tracts of green and earthy clay which surround a central medallion with face and flower motif. That circle is crowned with incised leaves. Both the medallion and the lip are tactile as a result of the decoration style. These markings and colouring are quintessential Albert Thiry. In very good vintage condition. Signed: 'Thiry' on base of dish. This gallery finds that Thiry's works are in demand more than ever in overdue recognition of his artistic creativity.
