The clock was designed by Leuteritz in the Rococo style using old moulds: The case rises up on three sturdy rocaille feet heightened in gold, lavishly decorated with delicate, three-dimensional flowers, leaves and rocailles that play around the dial. Above each of the three feet is a figure: on the right, a female putto with flower garlands in her hands and hair, personifying spring; in the middle, a putto of summer with a thick bundle of corn ears; on the left, winter, covered with a red fur cloth, warming his hands on a fire pot; and at the top of the case, autumn, with vine tendrils in her hair and a full wine glass in her hand. Enamelled dial with a blue background and circular, white, gold-framed, slightly curved recesses with black painted Arabic numerals, as well as a central white bezel with a colourfully painted flower garland, movement with hour and half-hour strike on bell. Original movement, checked by a master clockmaker, completely cleaned and fully functional, key available. Designed by ERNST AUGUST LEUTERITZ (1818-1893): He studied at the academy in Dresden, was a sculptor and from 1849 to 1886 he held the position of head of design at the Meissen porcelain manufactory, and in 1882 he became professor. He worked on vessel shapes and figures from the 18th century and designed vases, centerpieces and candlesticks in the styles of Rococo and Classicism. Design of model 2172 circa 1870-1880.
