Macranta by Cristina Celestino. Materials: Fibers from Jipi palm leaves fibers. Technique: Hand-woven with natural fibers in Colombia. Natural dyed. Dimensions: W 100 x H 100 cm Available in colors: Raw natural, purple-red, black grey, rose dust The Macranta wall decoration is inspired by Colombia’s largest orchid, the Coryanthes macrantha. These flowers only grow high above the ground in “ant-garden” nests built in the crown of trees. This association with ants allows them to produce large blossoms, measuring up to 12.5 cm, all year long.
