Vintage Design

Tulip-shaped vase dating from the 50s in flowed glass from the Luxval range from the famous crystalleries of Val-Saint-Lambert. The Cristalleries of Val-Saint-Lambert were created in 1826 on the site of an old abbey in Seraing, near Liège, in Belgium. World renowned, they experienced intense and high quality production. In the early 1930s, the consequences of Wall Street Krach were felt on the world economy, and also touched the Val-Saint-Lambert manufacture. The cut crystal objects, more expensive to realize, flow less well. Thus, in order to satisfy these many customers, and under the influence of René Delvenne and Charles Graffart, the Luxval line is launched. Although molded glass objects are already present in many previous catalogs (from 1904), and that certain art deco style pieces, also in molded glass, were already produced in 1925, the first list of prices in the Luxval range is issued on April 15, 1934. The Luxval Purely Art Deco line continues to be produced until the 1950s.
