Large Mid-Century Modern Floor Lamp in Sandy Brown from Meblo Guzzini

Vintage Design

On offer is a mid-century modern adjustable floor lamp, model name 'Lucerna'. This is the larger version of this model. It was designed by the Guzzini design team in Italy and made by MEBLO, Yugoslavia in the 1970s. The maker's sticker is still present on the outside of the shade. The base, rod and mechanism on top of the shade are made of chrome covered metal. The shade is beige-brown on the outside, flowing into a darker shade on the bottom, and white on the inside. When the lamp is turned on it reveals a lovely warm caramel tone (see photographs).

CONDITION Very good vintage condition with small signs of age and use - most notably the chrome has some irregularities/scratches on the base and scratches on the rod and top, and there are shallow scratches/scuff marks on the shade (see photographs for examples).

ELECTRICAL FEATURES The lamp requires 2 x E14 Edison light screw fixtures, 40-60 Watt. We recommend using LED bulbs to prevent heat damage to the shade. The cable has at some point been replaced. While we have tested the lamp to see that it works, as with all vintage electrical equipment, we suggest you have it checked by a qualified electrician in your country. !!
