A beautiful and finely hand-carved wooden lantern with yellow glass, Belgium, circa the 1960s. Masterful carved wooden details such as acanthus leaves and four Bacchus heads on each corner of the lantern feature exceptional carving workmanship. Even the canopy is a richly carved masterpiece. When lit, the lantern makes a warm amber light and the yellowish glow creates a warm, cozy atmosphere. One socket for the E27 (E26) size light bulb. The light fixture is ready for use also in the U.S. wiring system. Dimensions: height 82 cm / 32.28 in, width 24 cm / 9.44 in, depth 24 cm / 9.44 in. The lantern without the chain is circa 54 cm / 21.25 in length.
In very good vintage condition with slight signs of aging and use.
