Set Of 4 Clear Grid Table Vase by Studio Thier & van Daalen Dimensions: W 30 x D 30 x H 35cm Materials: Steel, Glass The studio was keen to find a way to display the fluidity of glass. Therefore they sought the contrast between the industrial steel and the craft of glass blowing, a contradiction and a confluence. They designed many steel pedestals with a grid to experiment with the flexibility of glass. It is a research in form, counterform, fluidity, transparency, repetition, light, and reflections. These vases are an ode to the glassblowing craft by literally placing it on a pedestal. Iris van Daalen & Ruben Thier share their fascination for reflection of (sun) light, colour transitions and materials. Over and over, they see it as a challenge to get hold of these phenomena and to abstract and translate them into sustainable designs.
