The name of this signature is obtained by the phonetization of the acronym of S.P.V glassware. : Société Parisienne de Verrerie. We find traces of the Société Parisienne de Verrerie between the years 1890 and 1925 at 112 boulevard d’Italie, today boulevard Auguste Blanqui, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
This Glassworks initially specialized in optical medical glassware. In 1895, it was Pierre Curie who was technical advisor for optics in this company at this address.
It was after 1925 that the Société Parisienne de Verrerie (Espaivet) diversified its production to manufacture artistic and decorative objects.
