Impressive Art Deco Italian Alabaster Eagle Sculpture Globe Lamp Signed In good condition overall with some small chips and marks to alabaster which can be seen when looked up close. The base bears the Italian sculptor's signature. The globe is made of two mid sections and rests on top of the bid to conceal the light. Art Deco is an influential design style that emerged in the early 20th century, reaching its peak popularity in the 1920s and 1930s. It is characterized by bold geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and a glamorous aesthetic. Alabaster, a translucent and often finely-grained stone, was frequently used during the Art Deco era for various decorative purposes, including lamps. Alabaster lamps feature the stone as a key component in their construction, often carved or shaped to create visually striking patterns or designs.
