Vintage Design

Planter with movement shape, opening on the top by a lid with rounded lines, in Thuja Bramble Veneer. It is mounted on a Porcelain plate with a predominantly Pink colour, decorated in the centre with a profile of an Antique soldier, and on its periphery with a coloured frieze. Two cut-out Bronze handles allow to remove this plate and to discover a naked compartment, 12 cm deep, bordered by an openwork gallery. A plant, a rose bush or other more unexpected objects, such as jewellery or fruit, can be placed in it, if one chooses to divert this planter from its original function.
Its four curved sides are decorated on the front and back with a scene of Puttis leaning against a Coat of Arms, surrounded by a beaded frieze.
The whole rests on four generously arched blackened wooden legs. They are embellished at the top with Bronzes depicting birds with wings spread out over leafy waterfalls. Ornaments of the same precious alloy decorate the hollow of these four legs ending in hooves. One will note the presence of fine chains suspended between the Bronzes, bringing lightness to this Decorative piece of furniture already full of finesse.
These four uprights are connected by a crotch shelf in the centre of which a tall Bronze Vase stands. The sides of this shelf are concave and its edges are adorned with a chased brass band.
