Antique and rare Bamana Kono Helmet mask from Mali. Original encrusted aged patina. This type of mask was used to enforce civic morality and agricultural rituals with hopes of a successful harvest. Stylized minimal features with elephant trunk which is symbolic of strength and wisdom.
